Written by Jim Cartwright

Panel 1. Cody stands in front of his diagram:

Title: The Wonderful World of Socks Middle Section: a stapled sock; text “hypothesis: socks are for feet”. Left section: picture and label “the elusive toed sock”; text list “Types of socks: plain, gold toe, striped, ankle, crew.” Right section: text “Fun Fact: some socks contain elastic”; text “Conclusion: socks are not just for feet.”

Principal Judge stands off to the side pinching the bridge of his nose.

PRINCIPAL JUDGE: Cody, how can you argue that “socks are not just for feet?”

Panel 2. Focus on Cody as he explains.

CODY: Principal Judge, socks have many applicable uses, for they are not just warm footwear. Sock puppetry is somewhat popular. Wind socks are used on a daily basis to determine the wind direction. Socks are great for tying off bullet wounds…

Panel 3. Principal Judge interrupts Cody. Cody looks down at his feet.

PRINCIPAL JUDGE: Bullets wounds? I’m pretty sure you can’t back that up.

PRINCIPAL JUDGE: Wait, have you been walking all day at school with only one sock on?

CODY: Yes.

CODY: It’s quite the experience.
